  • About Alyssa

    Alyssa Aguilos is a Southern California-based, independent filmmaker and creator of Dream it Do it Media. Alyssa Aguilos is an emerging screenwriter, assistant director and director. Alyssa has assistant-directed several award-winning shorts and music videos. She has utilized her organizational, leadership, and logistical skills as a line producer, production coordinator, and event organizer. While not working on her own projects, she has worked as a production assistant on non-scripted Discovery Channel shows such as American Detectives and Deadliest Catch. In addition, she has worked with Trailer Park and other agencies to assist on commercials and branded content. Her work has been publicly broadcasted via FilmLab's Best of 72 Hour Shootout, with her Drama, "Canned". Currently, she is in the process of gaining Assistant Director days to qualify for the Director’s Guild of America.

    Starting her career in 2009, she produced shorts for CHighTV, Cerritos High School’s TV and Broadcasting internship. Aguilos studied Cinema and Digital Arts at Cypress College from 2011 to 2016, where many of her films won recognition. In 2012, Alyssa received her Filmmaking Certificate from the International Academy of Film and Television in Burbank. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from California State University Long Beach in 2019 as a Narrative Film Production Major with a focus in Directing.

    She has worked on several award-winning shorts. In 2018, she produced and assistant directed “Her Things”, directed by Michael Mauch, landing in the Top 16 in the Campus Movie Fest. “Headlock”, directed by Damon Laguna has won the Panavision New Filmmaker Award (2019), The Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors Foundation Award (2020), and the Annenberg Foundation Award (2020) in addition to others. “Before”, directed by Julia Monahan, won Indie Short Fest’s Best Sci-fi Short award and Outstanding Achievement Award in 2020.

    Alyssa Aguilos is an adept live events organizer. In 2010, she helped organize weekly youth group meetings at her church until 2016. She worked her way from Executive Assistant to Producer at Key Production Group in only two years. In 2020, she helped create social media promotion for PopShop Live's live shopping channels. She now organizes her own yearly independent film festival: Twilight Showcase and Arts Fest.

    Aside from film, she often performs as a poet, singer & songwriter at open mics. On Twitch, she voice acts, plays cozy games, and pairs books with boba drinks as BooksNBoba. Whenever possible, she plays Quadball (formerly known as Quidditch).
